Instructor training course

Train to be a CBT instructor, either to join our team or to attend the DSA's assessment at Cardington and become an instructor yourself.

In order to participate in the instructor training course you will need to have held a full (UK) motorcycle licence for a minimum of 3 years, and be at least 21 years of age. The DSA operate a 'fit and proper criteria' for instructor applications which basically means that you should have no more than 6 penalty points, and should not have any serious non-motoring convictions.

The course lasts for 6 days and cost is £587.50 We can provide additional days at £100.00 pd if required.

Candidates should have a good knowledge of the Highway Code and 'Motorcycle Riding, The Essential Skills' (ISBN 0-11-552257-3) before attending the course. We will supply a set of comprehensive CBT notes and these should be studied before attending.
