Advanced Motorcycle Training

All advanced courses are based on the five point system outlined in ' Motorcycle Roadcraft the police rider's handbook'

The RoSPA gold award is the highest riding qualification available to the public, and many of our instructors hold this grade.

Our advanced courses are conducted by John Underwood, who holds a RoSPA diploma in advanced riding instruction, and is on the new register of post test motorcycle trainers (RPMT). Please call or e-mail to discuss your requirements.

Advanced Riding Qualifications

Like the motorcycle test, we can provide the training, but someone else will test you. Should you choose to take an advanced riding test, both RoSPA and the IAM offer motorcycle tests in the Edinburgh area. We would recommend the RoSPA test as this offers written feedback, a grading system and is currently cheaper than the IAM test.

Post Pass and Refresher courses

We are able to offer courses on 125cc and 500cc motorcycles or your own motorcycle for riders who hold a full licence.

These courses are suitable for riders who passed their test some time ago, are returning to motorcycling after a long time, or are upgrading to a big bike for the first time. A 3 hour lesson on our bike costs £75.00.

Enhanced Rider Scheme

We are now able to offer the new DSA ERS course.

This training scheme is suitable for all riders who have a full licence, no matter what size of bike, or level of experience.

You will not need to take a test as the scheme is based on assessment of skills and you will earn discounts on your insurance at the moment there are over 20 different insurers who have signed up to the scheme.
