City School of MotorCycling FAQ's1. Do I Need a CBT?
If you have a full drivers licence issued before 01.02.2001 you can ride a 50cc Moped without a CBT. If You want to ride anything other than a 50cc moped you must complete a CBT. If You have a provisional licence you will need a CBT.2. What do I Need to bring with me on the day of my course?
For all courses you must bring BOTH parts of your drivers licence. If You have a paper licence you must bring a valid passport. We suggest all candidates for full licence courses upgrade to the modern licence (Photo Card & Counterpart ). You will also need to bring your theory test past certificate and CBT Certificate.3. How long is the course?
CBT Starts at 8.30 AM and Finishes at 5.30PM. All other courses Start at 9.00 AM4. Do I need to buy motorcycle clothing?
We Supply Helmets, Jackets, Waterproofs and Gloves. If you have your own clothing that you will be more comfortable in then bring it along. We also Suggest you wear sturdy footwear, such as Timberlands, Dr Martins, work boots, hill walking boots or Motorcycle boots NO TRAINERS!5. How Can I pay for my course ?
We accept Cash ,Cheques and Cards (debit and credit) but not American express. We can accept pyment by bank transfer. Please note with cheques we need to receive them 2 weeks before your course.6. What type of bike will I be riding?
For CBT a 16 Year Old would be riding a 50cc automatic scooter, age 17 + would ride a Yamaha YBR 125. For DAS We use the Yamaha XJ6N (600cc).7. Can I ride my own bike on my course?
For CBT you may use your own bike you MUST be insured, and your vehicle must be taxed and Roadworthy. For DAS You may use your own bike if it meets the legal requirements and you are insured for further information please contact us.8. Do I Need a Theory Test?
You donít need a theory test to do a CBT but you do need a working knowledge of the current Highway Code for all courses involving a practical test you need to have passed a theory test.9. What Facilities Do You Have?
We Have a Toilet, Tea and Coffee making facilities. For Lunch there are Local shops, burger vans and a Bakers Van Calls on weekdays you can bring a packed lunch and eat at our premises either outside or inside.10. How many people will be on the course with me?
DAS Courses there are 2 students to 1 instructor at all times. For CBT on the training area whilst riding the maximum is 4 students to 1 instructor but normally we limit this to two on the road the maximum is 2 students to 1 instructor.11. Any other questions not covered above?
